Design Director

Jane is a modern, beautifully designed practice management platform built for allied health practitioners around the world. Our mission is simple: help the helpers.

Design isn't an afterthought at Jane, it's core to who we are. We've built a product that practitioners genuinely love to use, and we're looking for a Design Director to lead the vision that makes that possible. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thinks deeply about craft, systems, and the humans on the other side of the screen.

You'll shape how Jane looks, feels, and functions, leading a team of designers across product, brand, and content to create experiences that are as thoughtful as the care our customers provide.

What You'll Be Getting Up To

• Own and drive Jane's design vision across product, brand, and marketing — ensuring a cohesive, high-quality experience at every touchpoint
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product and visual designers, setting a high bar for craft and collaboration
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to bring new features and initiatives to life with clarity and intention
• Establish and evolve Jane's design system, ensuring consistency and scalability as the product grows
• Champion the voice of the user — grounding design decisions in research, empathy, and real-world clinical workflows
• Drive design critique and review processes that elevate the work and develop the team
• Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the long-term product and brand direction
• Build strong cross-functional relationships, making design a trusted and indispensable partner across the org

What You'll Need To Excel

• 10+ years of design experience, with at least 3 years leading a design team
• A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional craft across both product (UX/UI) and visual/brand design
• Proven ability to set and execute a design vision at a company or product level
• Deep experience with design systems and the processes that keep them healthy
• Strong instincts for user research and the ability to translate insights into compelling, elegant solutions
• Excellent communication skills — you can articulate design decisions to engineers, executives, and non-designers with equal clarity
• Experience working in SaaS, health tech, or similarly complex product environments is a strong asset
• A collaborative, low-ego approach and a genuine passion for building great teams
• Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with modern design and prototyping tooling
